The small clearing where they stop is more than close enough for Amelia. She grins, shifting her grip on the bat to get a better sense of its weight. With only it and the few daggers she has on her person, only one of which is immediately accessible, this is going to be a more challenging task to accomplish than the last time she helped Red with intruders in her jungle.
And that's exactly what she's looking for.
Her grin pulls wider as she turns to Red and Harley, then offers them a wink. "I'll be back soon. Make sure you watch closely or you might miss something."
Turning her gaze toward the camp, Amelia slips into the trees and makes her way toward its edge. The shoes Alex provided for her, while beautiful and fine for walking around, are now a liability for tipping off the people she's after - which works to her advantage as she begins her scouting. Slipping the shoes off, she hangs one around her wrist and palms the heel of the other as she creeps along the edge of the trees, taking stock of where all of her targets are. Most are out of reach from the heaviest foliage, but the one patrolling the perimeter is well within range of her arm.
She keeps her distance from her target as the man walks along a length of trees ahead of her. When he's furthest from any structures she can see through all of the greenery, she throws her shoe hard enough to shake loose a few dead branches from a tree a few feet in from the camp's clearing and at the edge of the man's peripheral vision. As Amelia predicted, the man is startled enough by the sound to jump, shout a curse, and then step into the trees to investigate. With no one else in range to hear any of this over the sounds of the camp or the jungle itself, the interloper stands no chance against the rogue. She ducks around trees as she approaches, then runs around behind him when he bends over to find her shoe. As he stands, she taps him on the shoulder and meets his surprised gasp with a grin and Harley's bat across his face. His head slams into the nearest tree from the impact and he dies instantly from the combined blows to the head. It's not a satisfying takedown, but it's a start.
Dropping down into the shadows of the trees, she retrieves her shoe and continues her advance. Time to scout out the rest of the area and make a plan of attack, lest she get bored and simply rain fire down on the camp to deal with them all at once.
