Playtime with the Girls (open post)

Harley has been a little restless the past month or so. While there is still some random jobs she gets from the Nexus, and from her world, it really has not been keeping her busy enough. And she needs a distraction. A distraction from the bad stuff that went down in her life … and just needs to surround herself with good friends. And a party.

So she decides to throw a "Girls Only" night at her Coney Island roller derby. She gets the place set up with decorations, lots of liquor, and lots of food. There is a place for people to get up and sing karaoke in one corner. And a quieter couch area in another corner.

The main focus is on the roller derby rink itself, where Harley is currently skating a few rounds.

She convinced a certain Angel messenger to deliver the invites out to as far as he could, so anyone from the Nexus could drop on by. The only rule of the night... was this was a Girls Night only.

"When you get the confused gal confused... you win." Harley winks. She plays confused good. But truth is that she is very alert to every situation.

"Gotta say. Love this look on ya!"

She smiles and knows all too well that confused doesn't mean off game for warriors.

"Thank you." And there might be a hint of a blush. "Lucifer says I should practice before meeting Galahad's people."

Not that she wanted to. Being female was the last thing she wanted to do.

"Ohhhh getting serious enough to meet his people? That is great."

Harley links her arm with the Angel. "I might not be the ideal role model... but I can help you with any fighting skills in your female form."

[hesperussword]

"I..." Oh Beelzebub is nervous and shakes her wings. "We're betrothed.. engaged? Something like that." She's not sure what word to use.

The angel is glad to link arms with Harley, which is easier with the skates making her taller. "I should practice to see what's different. I don't know how his culture's going to take me. I think they expect women to be quiet."

"Really? Wow, when did this happen?" Harley is a lot surprised.

"I really hope he ain't expecting you to fit into his culture. I am sure he loves you for who you are..."

When? It happened in steps; the gift and then talking and more talking. "March, I think."

"No." Beelzebub leaned into Harley as they walked. "He's going to be king though and his people do expect him to do things." The grin sneaks back in. "We're cheating the system."

Harley really hopes that their relationship is strong enough to survive the sudden changes. She knows that there are people who never get married, but still have healthy relationships with their partners. But is happy for Beelzebub all the same.

"Oh.... tell me all about it. I love a good system cheating."

It had been spur of the moment but a romantic cozying with an angel of oaths probably makes it inevitable on some level.

But tactics are also her thing and breaking the system came naturally. "His people follow God and think it's wrong for two men to be together, but i can be a woman when I want to." Beelzebub gets the biggest grin. "They're going to marry thier future king to a male and don't known it."

She paused to get another drink. "In his court, I'll look like this but everywhere else it'll be the same. When he's king things might change."

"As long as you are comfortable in this form, more power to you." Harley would hate for Beelzebub to feel forced to hide himself, even to please another culture.

"And you know that if two want the freedom to be two dudes in love... you are always welcome here."

[hesperussword]

"I'm learning to be." She's adamant about it. "It'll get easier."

"I know." She gives Harley a hug for the support. "My people don't care either."
